Peacefully and surrounded by her loving family at home, Kylie Catherine Gritter of Arabi entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, March 15 at the tender, young age of 17. Kylie was one of God’s special angels whom He placed here on Earth to make the world a better place and teach others the importance of appreciating the simple things in life.
During her short time with us Kylie touched more lives than she ever could have imagined and brought abundant joy to everyone who knew her. Her sweet, innocent soul was truly a blessing to anyone who had the privilege of being in her presence, even if for just a moment in time. Kylie faced many health challenges, but she did so with amazing grace and the strength and perseverance of a true warrior.
Without speaking a word, Kylie made her way through each day by showing everyone who was in charge. She had an infectious smile that would light up a room and all she asked for in return was to be loved.
Kylie’s memory will live on through her loving and devoted parents, Kim Sensebe Gritter and Joey Gritter, and her adoring big brother, Kolby Gritter (Morgan). Kylie’s maternal grandparents are June Zuviceh Sensebe and the late Christian J. Sensebe IV, and her paternal grandparents are the late Catherine Howorka Gritter and the late Joseph J. Gritter Jr. Kylie also leaves behind her Godparents, Karen Sensebe Dupont (David) and Gary Gritter (Glenda); and her aunts and uncles, John Gritter (Virginia), Emily Gritter Christensen (Gordon), Gregory Gritter Sr. (Lorraine), Laura Gritter Tamor (Kevin), Mary Jo Gritter James (Warren Sr.), Don Gritter (Regina), Lorrie Sensebe Bernard (Mark) and the late Kathleen Gritter Martinez and the late Joseph Martinez Sr. She also will be remembered by 18 first cousins and 22 second cousins.
Kylie left an everlasting mark on the hearts of her present and former doctors, caregivers, therapists and home health nurses, including Shelby Gai and Erica Singletary who lovingly cared for Kylie during her final days. Special thanks to Amy Tompkins for her loving support.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue Street, in Chalmette, from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Kylie's life in the chapel, at Noon.
