Kathleen Gayle Fabra graciously and peacefully passed away on February 17th, 2022, while holding her children’s hands. Kathy was born February 25th, 1942, in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late James and Sylvia Hoffpauir.
A lifelong resident of Arabi, Louisiana until 2005, she then resided in Mandeville, Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina. Kathy owned and operated her own hair salon, Kathy’s Beauty Bazaar, in Arabi for many years, but her real job was caring for her four children. If we can say anything about our Kat, it’s that her family was everything. Her children were her pride and absolute loves of her life. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren made her life that much sweeter. Hershey’s and Diet Cokes were definitely the second loves of her life. Kathy was adamant that she didn’t care for the number 80, so fittingly she will be forever 79. She was a giver. She was one of a kind. To lose her is to lose beyond measure.
Kathy is survived by her loving children Melinda Martin (Anthony), Rickey Fabra (Peggy), Tammy Deffes (Darren), and the late beloved Arthur Fabra.
She will be sorely missed by her siblings James “Huffy” Hoffpauir (Janice), Winnifred Carlson “Mikey” (the late John), Becky Marin (Larry), Michael “Boo” Hoffpauir (Mary), Carl Hoffpauir (Dara), and the late beloved Linda Hoffpauir. Also proceeded in death by her beloved Aunt Mildred Hoffpauir.
She will always be remembered by her adoring grandchildren Damien, Rachel (Greg), Jennifer (Aaron), Vincent (Lindsay), Emma, Ryan (Alexa), and Olivia. She also leaves behind her great grandchildren Gabriel, Vayda, Hattye, Julian, Libby, Brady, Isabel, and Lydia.
She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews who were dear to her heart.
She will be loved and missed but forever in our hearts.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W.
