Joyce Lemoine Fontenot

Joyce Lemoine Fontenot passed away Friday, February 10 2023 at Anderson Memory Care in Slidell Louisiana at the age of 96. She was the beloved wife of the late Elvin John Fontenot, loving mother of Craig John Fontenot, mother-in-law of Vickie Thomas Fontenot, proud grandmother of Christopher John Fontenot (Frances Navarro Fontenot, wife) and Paul Joseph Fontenot, great grandmother of Faith Emmalee Fontenot. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Abdon and Natalie (Couvillion) Lemoine, Brothers; Joseph K. “Roy” Lemoine and Ernest Paul “Buck” Lemoine, Sisters; Lola Mae Lemoine and Beryl Angeline Lemoine Mayeaux. In her younger years, Joyce worked in New Orleans as a cigar factory employee and as a department Store floor sales person before becoming a devoted housewife and Mother. She was well loved and will be forever remembered as a loving and loyal wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister who treasured her family.

Visitation will be held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Monday, February 20, 2023 from 9:00 AM -11:00 AM. Services will follow visitation at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
