Joseph Raymond “Joe Ray” Peluso passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 26, 2021. Joseph Raymond died of natural causes at his home in Chalmette, LA at the age of 56. He was the eldest son of Helga Peluso and the late Joseph Merlin Peluso. He was preceded in death by his loved one Teresa Tillman Peluso. He is survived by his son Zack Peluso (Catherine). Grandfather to Dimitri Peluso, Tony Peluso, Maddy Peluso, Yeisha May Peluso, Athena Peluso and Ethan Peluso. He is also survived by his sister Leila Saizan-Lott (Marvin), brother Walter Peluso (Traci), brother Wayne Peluso, sister Cindy Saucier (Patrick), Uncle to nieces Scarlett Lancon (Joshua), niece Heidi Swanson, and nephews Matthew and Michael Peluso. Born and raised in New Orleans, LA, Joe Ray was known for his commitment and dedication to the Louisiana Horse Racing Industry. He was the definition of a horse man through and through. For thirty years, he dedicated his time to the Fairground in New Orleans and Louisiana Downs in Bossier City, LA. Joe also had many friends and acquaintances. He was a diehard LSU and Saints fan. He loved to fish and to golf. He was very much loved and will truly be missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue Street, Chalmette, LA on Monday, February 8, 2021 from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M.. A funeral Service will begin at 8:00PM. A private burial will take place at St. Bernard Memorial Gardens in Chalmette.
