John Adam Walsh III, 74, of Violet, Louisiana, passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2021, in Violet, Louisana. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Charlene Peterson Walsh; his children, John A. Walsh IV, Mark Walsh (Kathy), Rebecca Wood, and Dale Wood (Amy); his siblings, Joseph A. Walsh (Darlene), Joan (DeDe) Walsh Heine, James A. Walsh (Susan), and Jerome A. Walsh; and by his grandchildren, Kerilynn Walsh, Brennen Walsh, Connor Walsh, John A. Walsh V, Lyra Wood, Elliot Wood, Randy Joseph, Oliver Wood, Arabella Joseph, and Asher Wood. He is preceded in death by his parents, the late John Adam Walsh Jr. and the late Dorothy Bertha Williams Walsh. John Adam Walsh III was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, to John Adam Walsh Jr. and Dorothy Bertha Williams Walsh on June 15, 1946. He went to Chalmette High School, in Chalmette. He married Charlene Walsh on January 20, 1990, in Metairie, Louisiana. He worked as a Courier/Compliance Inspector for St. Bernard Parish Government for thirteen years. Prior to that, he worked for Zetz Bottling Company for 24 years. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War in the Army National Guard 141st Unit of the Washington Artillery. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing with friends and family. Johnny loved the Lord and dedicated his life to serving him as a member of Victory Church, since 1986. A private family service, officiated by Frank Bailey of Victory Church, will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2021, at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. VIRTUE STREET, in Chalmette. A Second Line Jazz Procession will begin outside the funeral home around 10:30 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to stand along the end of Virtue Street, between the funeral home and the cemetery, to see Johnny to his place of rest.
