John Jack Francis Rowley passed away at his home on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at the age of 83. He was the cherished and devoted husband of Elizabeth P. Rowley for 62 years. Loving father of Jack F. Rowley Jr. DDS (his wife Julie). Son of the late Celestine Francis and Marie Esteves Rowley. Brother of Bert W. Rowley (his wife Wilma). Proud grandfather of Rebecca Rowley Schoen (her husband Jacob). Great grandfather of Abigail Schoen, Alice Schoen and Jacob Schoen. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Rowley served as Sheriff of St. Bernard Parish from 1962 – 1979. He went on to serve as District Attorney for St. Bernard Parish from 1979 – 2014.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at OUR LADY OF PROMPT SUCCOR CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2320 Paris Rd., Chalmette, LA on Monday, November 10, 2014 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will begin at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, Masses preferred.
