John William “Possum” Earhart, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, March 16, 2025, at the age of 77, at his home in Chalmette Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his grandsons, Kevin Bersuder and Chance Tanner.
A devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Powell Earhart; his son, Keith Earhart (Evelyn), daughters, Melanie Tanner (Lindley), and Tamara Earhart; His grandsons, Shane Earhart, Jarred Earhart, Justin Tanner, C.J. Maus, Joshua Maus. He was looking forward to becoming a great grandfather in May.
John retired from the Domino Sugar Refinery in Chalmette, LA in 2007 after 37 years.
A private memorial service will be attended by his immediate family.
