Jesse Lee Schmidt

Jesse Lee Schmidt passed away on Monday, November 15, 2021 at the age of 29. He was the beloved son of Melissa Mayer (Eric) and Kevin Schmidt. Loving father of Elijah Joseph Fleetwood. Grandson of Gladys Schmidt and the late Vernon & Yvonne Shelton. Brother of Kayla Schmidt, Mariah Mayer Duhe (Sal), Brandi Mayer, Kevin Schmidt and the late Eric Mayer. Proud uncle of Anamaria Marrero, Levee Schmidt, Jolie Duhe, Salvador Duhe, Bella Grace and Aleah Yvette. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins that loved him dearly.

Jesse was born on May 19, 1992 in New Orleans, LA. Jesse was a father who loved his children beyond words. He was a devoted uncle to his nieces and nephews who truly adored him. His passion for music was like no other. He enjoyed fishing and being outdoors. Jesse loved to make people laugh and he would do anything to make a person smile. Jesse had his struggles but he did not let them define who he was. His life in addiction was cut short but he did not lose his battle, he simply found the freedom he spent his life looking for. He is free now.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Saturday, November 20, 2021 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the family to help with funeral expenses. Memorial envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
