Irene Theresa Juneau

Irene Theresa Juneau passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at the age of 78. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that she had touched in some way throughout her very memorable life. Irene was preceded in death by her siblings Robert Juneau (Bobby), Gloria Juneau, Larry Juneau, Allen Juneau, Betty Ann Juneau and Bertrand Juneau and her parents Levy Joseph Juneau Jr. and Mercy Chatelain Juneau. She is survived by her beloved children Heidi Liebert Toledano, Gretchen Ann Liebert and Cullen Adair Tonry (Christine Lindsoe Tonry). Proud grandmother of Kristie Irene Toledano (Connelly), Ashlie Elizabeth Burke, Carmen Amelia Tonry and Cullen “Deuce” Tonry II. Great grandmother of Carter Nathan Connelly and Rose Irene Burke. Sister of Jeannie Juneau, Eloise Juneau, Joyce Guidry (Robert), Sandra Gardache (Richard), Gail Nunez (Brian), Karen Guterierrez (Lloyd), Dennis Juneau (Lucy) and Kenny Juneau (Donna). She is also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Irene was born in New Orleans, LA and was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish. She truly enjoyed life through her simple pleasures of decorating her home with photos of her family, gardening and growing her amazing roses. Her fondness for Pokeno was surpassed only by the love for her family. Irene will forever be remembered for her loyalty and dedication to her family, her caring and loving spirit, her laughter, and spoiling the grandchildren. She was well loved and a wonderful example of what it means to care for others.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Friday, August 5th from 11:00AM – 1:00PM, followed by a Funeral Mass in Irene’s memory beginning at 1:00PM. She will be laid to rest in a private ceremony.
