

Guy John Waguespack Jr. passed away peacefully on Monday, September 9, 2024 at the age of 80. His final days were spent surrounded by his family, sharing stories and memories of a man who lived a very memorable life. He was the beloved husband of 60 years to Carol Miller Waguespack. Loving father of Guy Waguespack (Shellie), David Waguespack (Megan) and Lou Plaisance (Larry) and the late Joy Waguespack. Son of the late Guy and Rose Waguespack. Brother of Raymond Waguespack, Helen Hasselbeck, Jean Faulkner and the late Sonny Waguespack and Roy Waguespack. Proud grandfather of Brandy Verdin (Lance) and Dustin Waguespack and his favorite playmates / great-grandchildren Jace (Creepy), Maxx and Ella . He is also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Born in New Orleans, LA, Guy lived a life marked by humility, humor, and unwavering kindness. A proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, Guy's service took him on many journeys across the globe. However, it was in St. Bernard Parish that he found his true home, where he embraced a life of simplicity and joy with his family.
Guy was known for his laid-back demeanor and his love for the little things that made life special — whether it was savoring his favorite foods, cheering on his football team, or enjoying an occasional visit to the casino. His humor and warmth touched everyone who knew him. Rest in peace, dear Guy. Your laughter, good nature and generous heart will always be cherished in the wonderful memories you created for us all.

Relatives, family and friends are invited to join in remembering a man who lived with grace and joy at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Friday, September 27th from 9:00AM - 11:00AM, followed by a memorial service in Guy's memory beginning at 11:00AM. Following military honors in the funeral home chapel, Guy will be laid to eternal rest in the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery.
