Gloria Elaine Alexander

Gloria Elaine Alexander passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on December 28, 2023, at the age of 90. “GeeGee” is survived by her sisters, June Teresa Ballon and Kay Cecelia Giglio; her beloved nieces and nephews; her great nieces and nephews; her great- great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Claude Alexander and Florence Sauvinet; her siblings, Shirley Marie Winkler, Claude “Bobby” Victor Alexander and Richard Raymond Alexander.

Gloria was a native of New Orleans, LA and was also a resident of St. Bernard and Jefferson Parish. She retired from both Delta Steam Ship Lines and George H. Lehleitner. Gloria was a devoted Catholic and supporter of numerous charities. Her passion and enjoyment in later years came from spending time with her family, engaging in needle work and participating in activities with the Delta Golden Ages Club in Jefferson Parish. Though she has left us, Gloria leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and joy. She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Koryn and Angel from Hospice Associates for the care and support they provided to Gloria when she needed it the most.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at ST. CLEMENT of ROME CATHOLIC CHURCH, 4317 Richland Ave., Metairie, LA on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, from 11:30 AM- 1:00 PM. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL GARDENS.
