Dorothy “Dottie” Louise Cooper passed away on Friday, December 1, 2023 at the age of 92. She was born in New Orleans, LA on October 16, 1931. Dorothy was the loving wife to the late George Louis Cooper. She was the caring mother to George R. Cooper (Yvonne), Dr. Robert B. Cooper (Jeanne), Kenneth L. Cooper (Kathy) and Kim C. Jones (Alvin); grandmother to Fr. Robert Cooper, George Cooper (Brittney), Emily Jones (Dylan), Adam Jones and Lani Manning (Heath); great grandmother to Chloe Manning, Brantley Cooper and Macie Cooper. Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Elvera Clement; her siblings, Walter Clement II, Linda Norvell and Shirley Smith.
Dottie was a homemaker who was well known for her love of family, friends and her famous hot tamale recipe. She was a member of the “Fun for All Club” for many years and played cards with a group of friends for over 50 years. Dottie enjoyed reading, trips to the casino, making homemade candy and cooking for her family. Dottie was a very generous person who always thought of others. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her.
