Dorothy Rose Flynn Barbe

We mourn the passing of Dorothy Rose Flynn Barbe, who peacefully left us at the age of 95. Born in New Orleans, LA on December 20, 1928 to the late Maurice Flynn and Hannah Cleo Latimer Flynn, she lived a life rich in love, family, and cherished memories. A devoted widow, mother, and grandmother, she found her greatest joy in the company of her family, especially her beloved grandchildren. She was the loving wife to the late Joseph Lawrence Barbe Jr., for over 60 plus years. Caring mother to Linda Beaulieau (Sidney), the late Joseph L. Barbe and David Barbe (Diana). Loving grandmother of Amanda A. Cox (David), David B. Barbe Jr., Sidney J. Beaulieau IV (Amy), Christopher M. Barbe (Jessica) and Amanda Hotard (Chris). She is preceded in death by her siblings, Michael J. Flynn, Maurice E. Flynn Jr., Donald J. Flynn, Dennis W. Flynn, Patrick C. Flynn and Thomas D. Flynn.

Dorothy was known for her remarkable talents in sewing, crocheting, and cooking. Her handmade creations and delicious meals were a testament to her care and creativity, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she encountered. A proud member of AARP Chapter #5408, she was actively involved in her community and enjoyed the camaraderie of her fellow members. Her warmth, kindness, and dedication to her family will be deeply missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Monday, August 19, 2024 from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM. A funeral mass will begin at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in ST. VINCENT DE PAUL CEMETERY NO. 2.
