David Vilardo passed away on March 16, 2015, in Summerville, South Carolina, surrounded by his family after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his beloved fiancée, Joyce Austell, and his siblings Joseph (Cathy), Daniel (Linda), and Kathleen Thornberry (Steve). Devoted uncle of Melody Robin (Lonnie), Melissa Vilardo, Joey Vilardo (Tia), and David Thornberry. Great uncle of Chayce, Cullen, and Amelia. Ago 60, he is preceded in death by his parents, Jeanette and Joseph Vilardo, Sr. He was born in New Orleans on February 10, 1955. He ended his days in South Carolina, where he lived with his fiancée, Joyce. David was a Master Plumber. He loved his New Orleans Saints and LSU Tigers. He was also a very talented jack of all trades. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, socializing, and volunteering at the AMVETS post in Thurmont, Maryland. David’s great sense of humor and loyalty to his family and friends endeared him to all who knew him. He lived his life to the fullest. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Friday, March 20th from 9:00AM – 11:00AM, followed by a Funeral Mass beginning at 11:00AM. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
