Cynthia "Cindy" Planas Lowrance

Cynthia Planas Lowrance, "Cindy”, a native of New Orleans, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, from breast cancer at the age of 67. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that she had touched in some way throughout her memorable life. Beloved wife of the late Dayle Lowrance. Loving mother of Jason Lowrance (Allison). Stepmother of Paul Lowrance. Daughter of the late George Planas, Jr. and Joyce Shaw Planas. Proud grandmother of Gunner, Ryan and Sebastian. Step grandmother of 4 grandchildren. Sister of Dale Planas, Dane Planas (Kathy), and Holly Hebert (Jim). She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.

Cindy was born on August, 30, 1955 in New Orleans, LA and was a resident of Metairie, LA for the past 31 years. She enjoyed a lengthy career that included employment at Louisiana Land and Exploration Co., Burlington Resources Oil and Gas Co., Energy Partners LLC, Harold Anderson LLC, and Helis Oil and Gas LLC. Cindy truly enjoyed life through her simple pleasures of biking, running, skiing and enjoying time with her family and friends. Her fondness for spending weekends at Grand Isle was surpassed only by the love she had for her grandkids. She found pleasure in the details of everyday life and cared deeply for others. Cindy will always be remembered for her dedication to her family and friends, her loving spirit, her laughter, and spoiling the grandchildren. She was well loved and will be will be deeply missed by us all.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation to be held at ST. FRANCIS XAVIER CATHOLIC CHURCH, 444 Metairie Rd., Metairie, LA on Friday, December 9, 2022 from 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM. A Memorial Mass will begin at 10:00 AM. A Celebration of Life will follow at 12:00 PM at Lakeside Country Club, 1520 Rose Garden Dr., Metairie, LA. Entombment will be private.
