Conrad Charles Wiegand

Conrad Charles Wiegand, Sr. passed away on July 1, 2018 at the age of 87. Beloved husband of Elizabeth “Betty” Lilly Wiegand. Father of Karen L. Wiegand, Conrad C. Wiegand, Jr., Mary L. Duchmann, Tricia D. Berthelot and Susan DiMaggio. Daughter-In-Law of Tiffany Dean Wiegand. Father-In-Law of the late Greg Duchmann, the late Gary Berthelot, and the late Shelly O’Neal. Future father-in-law of the late Kelly Gannon. Proud Grandfather of 12 grandchildren and the late Timmy Pritchard, Jr. 17 great grandchildren and 2 expecting in August totaling 19. Brother of Dorothy “Dottie” Caywood, the late Arthur Wiegand, the late Faye McMahon, the late Yvonne Weaver and the late Marilyn Rose. The son of the late Arthur Adolf and Gladys Amy Wiegand. Also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Conrad was a veteran of the US Coast Guard. He was employed with American Can Co. for over 30 years. He was a deacon of the First Baptist Church of Chalmette. He was also a devout member of Grace Memorial Baptist Church in Slidell, La. Relatives and Friends of the family are invited to attend visitation at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. VIRTUE STREET, in Chalmette, on Monday July 9, 2018 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held in his honor at 11:00 AM. He will be laid to rest in McDonough Cemetery, 520 Hancock St., in Gretna.
