Chris Anthony Lodriguss Sr. 66, of Violet, La., was escorted to glory on Friday, Oct 11, 2024. Chris was born on December 22, 1957 to Rene and Emelda Lodriguss. He was an avid deer hunter most of his life, but also enjoyed hunting anything that was “in season”. As a young man he worked as a welder then became a commercial fisherman in the early 80’s. After some health issues he studied hard and became a very successful private investigator. He loved being a PI because he said it was much like hunting but only with a camera.
He was a gentle man who kept his cool and was the stability in the family. He always had a story to tell and a song to sing, even though he couldn’t carry a tune. He was a loyal friend and would give you the shirt off of his back. He taught his sons to be men of integrity and to love Jesus with all their being.
After hurricane Katrina his health began to decline after his first heart attack. He would later have four more heart attacks after that. On October 3, his health took a dramatic turn and he closed his eyes for the last time on October 11, 2024.
He loved Jesus and his church, the Tabernacle Church, in St. Bernard, Louisiana. He was so proud and grateful that all three of his sons have chosen to enter the ministry and become pastors at the Tabernacle.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Darnell Lodriguss. He was an amazing father to his sons, Chris, Cody and Cliff Lodriguss and loved their wives Caitlyn, Shea and Hailey. The light of his life was being a very proud grandfather to his 11 grandchildren, Addyson, Bethany, Samuel, Benjamin, Averi, Oliver, Norah, Andy, David, Caleb and Isabella. He is also survived by his mother Emelda Lodriguss and his brother Pat Lodriguss. He was preceded in death by his father Rene Lodriguss.
The family would like to thank the staff of Compassus Hospice care for their compassionate care in his last days.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD CHRISTIAN ACADEMY, 4302 E. Judge Perez Dr., Meraux, LA 70075 on Saturday, October 26, 2024 from 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM. A Memorial Service will begin at 10:30 AM.
