Betty Rodriguez

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Betty Braud Gagliano Rodriguez, a beloved mother, grandmother, and dear friend to many. She peacefully departed this world on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and dedication. Her remarkable life, filled with 47 years of service as a legal secretary, will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing her. Born on February 21, 1936, in New Orleans, LA, Betty was a vibrant soul who embraced life with a contagious enthusiasm. She graduated from F.T. Nicholls High School in 1953. She was a devoted wife to the late Matteo Gagliano and the late Gerald “Jerry” Rodriguez. Betty was the loving mother of Gwen Gagliano LeSage (Charlie) and Gregg Braud Gagliano; step- mother to Jerry Rodriguez and Bonnie Rodriguez. Proud grandmother of Aimae LeSage and Evan LeSage; aunt of Babs Bellini, John “Buster” Bellini and Phillip Bellini. She is preceded in death by her parents, Amedee Braud and Florence Maniscalco Braud; her sister Beverly Braud Bellini (the late Johnny).

She was a vibrant and vivacious individual who found great joy in traveling the world around her with family and friends. Betty knew that life's most precious memories are often forged while in the company of loved ones, and she treasured those moments dearly. She delighted in preparing delectable meals and would often gather family and friends around her table, showering them with her love and delicious creations. Her generous spirit was reflected in the joy she found in feeding others, creating an atmosphere of warmth and togetherness that will be deeply missed. Her memory will live forever in our hearts.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Friday, June 30, 2023, from 9:00 AM- 11:00 AM. A Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
