Barbara B. Alfonso passed away on Thursday, May 13, 2021. Age 79. A resident of St. Bernard Parish. Preceded in death by her son, the late Gordon Alfonso, and her parents the late Weldon Bordelon and Delores Rano Bordelon. Mother of Dean Alfonso (Janelle). Sister of Glenn Bordelon (Debbie) and the late Judith B. Melerine (“Lutchie”) and Weldon Bordelon, Jr. (Ann). Grandmother of Melissa, Jessica, John, and River Alfonso. Great grandmother to Eli, Emma, Max, Roman, and Lila. Former wife of Manuel Alfonso. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was a retired employee of the St. Bernard Parish School System.
Relatives and friends are invited to a gathering at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. VIRTUE STREET, in Chalmette, on Friday, May 21, 2021, from 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held in Barbara's memory at 11:00 AM. She will be laid to rest privately.
