Audrey Rita Nunez

In loving memory of Audrey R. Nunez who passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at the age of 94. She was the beloved wife of the late Jules E. “E.J.” Nunez. Loving mother of Ronald Jules Nunez and Donald James Nunez. Daughter of the late Joseph J. Remme Sr and May Cecilia Remme. Sister of the late Joseph J. Remme Sr., Valerie Bizette and May Remme. Proud grandmother of Amber Ann Sitkins. Great grandmother of Christian Armstrong, Katlyn Armstrong and Evan Hyde. She is also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Audrey was a resident of St. Bernard Parish until she relocated to Flint, TX following the devastation of hurricane Katrina. Her career spanned 35 years within the Louisiana National Guard, where she served as a dedicated Purchasing Agent for the US Property and Fiscal Office (USPFO). Audrey always enjoyed the commitment and expertise the role required. In the tapestry of her life, Audrey found contentment in life's simple joys. Her warm nature and generous heart endeared her to all who knew her, earning her the affectionate admiration of those fortunate enough to call her friend.

As a devout Christian, she found solace and purpose in her faith, praising her Lord for the blessings bestowed upon her. Audrey's unwavering devotion illuminated her path, guiding her through life's triumphs and trials with steadfast grace and unwavering resolve.

Her departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved her. Yet, the legacy of Audrey's kindness, resilience, and unwavering faith will endure as a testament to a life lived with profound love and devotion. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were touched by her presence.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Monday, January 8th from 11:00AM – 1:00PM, followed by a Funeral Mass in Audrey’s memory beginning at 1:00PM. She will be laid to eternal rest in St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery.
