Anthony Ray Colombo

Anthony Ray Colombo passed away peacefully on Friday, July 15, 2022 at the age of 86. He was the devoted husband to the love of his life, the late Shirley A. Colombo. Loving father of Sherie Gioe, Susan Barocco and Ray Colombo. Father-in-law of Robin Colombo, Kevin Gioe and Michael Barocco. Proud grandfather of Rocky Gioe (Davina), Gino Gioe (Eden), Vincent Denoux (Erica), Dana Nicholls (Alex), Francesca Whelen (Patrick), Antonia Dudoussat (Eddie). Son of the late Sam Colombo and Antonia Michel Colombo. Anthony is also survived and fondly remembered by his 5 great grandchildren, many relatives and dear friends.

Anthony was born in New Orleans, LA and was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish before settling in Madisonville, LA. He was a renowned artist for 55 years known for designing and creating exquisite headpieces and costumes for carnival royalty. He loved going to the casino, playing his guitar and spending time with his grandchildren. Anthony will always be remembered for his loyalty and dedication to his family.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Thursday, July 21st from 11:00AM – 1:00PM, followed by a Funeral Mass in Anthony’s memory beginning at 1:00PM. He will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
