Albert Ernest Thomas Jr.

It is with great sadness that the family of Albert Ernest Thomas, Jr. announces his passing, after a brief illness, on Monday, November 19, 2018, at the age of 66 years. He was a native of Arabi, LA and a resident of Chalmette, LA. Post-Katrina he was a resident of Marrero, LA. Albert will always be lovingly remembered by his wife, Anna Chiasson Thomas, his children, Scott (Amanda) and Derek Thomas and his step-daughter Sydney Gordon. He will also be fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Gabrielle, Morgan and Gavin Thomas and his step-grandson Gavin Moore. He was preceded in death by his father Mr. Albert Thomas, Sr. and his mother Mrs. Isabell Adams Thomas. Albert is survived by his brother Davis Boos (Debbie) and his sister Evelyn Dean (Larry). He was preceded in death by his brother Kevin Thomas. He is survived by his nieces, Sherri Thomas Weathers, Monique Boos (Robert) and Jeanne Boos, his great-niece Maegan Alfonso, his great-nephew Jon Dawson and his two great-great-nieces, Addison Rose and Wesley Claire. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Mary Hill, his sisters-in-law Ashley (Sandy) and Monica, his brother-in-law Ted (Marcie) and his nieces Sarah and Marisela. He will also be missed by his sweet dog Rosie. Albert attended Chalmette High School and learned to be a machinist through a program at Delgado. He was a member of the US Army. He was a very proud ExxonMobil retiree from the Chalmette Refinery. His Shift Superintendent position was truly his dream job. Albert enjoyed Mardi Gras and never missed a costume opportunity. He always rang in the new year with the biggest fireworks display. His motorcycle, golf, music and cooking were amongst his favorite past-times. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at St. Bernard Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home, 701 W Virtue Street, Chalmette, LA on Thursday, November 29, 2018 from 9am-11am. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11am and the interment will follow in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
