Tony Caldwell

Tony was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on September 4th, 1943. He attended Bibb County High School and served in the U.S. Air Force. Tony had a servant’s heart. He left every place better than he found it. If something was broken, he set about repairing it. If someone said they needed help, he always found time to help them. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, but fishing was his passion. He loved to be out on the water fishing, whether the fish were biting or not. Not only was he a fisher of fish, but he was a fisher of men.

Tony is survived by his wife, Jean Caldwell; son, Greg Caldwell (Tracy); daughter, Valerie Caldwell Jones; four grandchildren, Luke Caldwell, Lydia Caldwell, Kade Jones, and Brodie Jones; brother, Don P. Caldwell; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, September 17, 2023 at Brent Baptist Church at 3:00 PM. Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org) and the American Red Cross (redcross.org).
