Shirley Ann Vining, age 87, of Woodstock, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2024. Shirley and Robert were married for 60 years. She was known for being a faithful companion to Robert, following him to wherever he went, as well as being very competitive with him playing Dominoes. Shirley will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
She is survived by daughter, Cathy Phipps (James); grandchildren, Jim Phipps (Crystal), Justin Phipps (Lisa), Jennifer Phipps (Kannon); great grandchildren, Will, Emma, Anna, Liam, and Willa.
Shirley is preceded in death by her spouse of 60 years, Robert B. Vining; her parents George and Flora Oglesby, brothers, Earl Oglesby and Jimmy Oglesby, sister Sue Pope.
A visitation for Shirley will be held Friday, March 29, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Rockco Funeral Home, 805 Birmingham Road, Centreville, AL 35042. A chapel service will occur Friday, March 29, 2024 at 11:00 AM, 805 Birmingham Road, Centreville, AL 35042. A burial will occur Friday, March 29, 2024 at Greenpond Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Eastern Valley Rd, Greenpond, Alabama 35184.
Serving as pallbearers are Jim Phipps, Justin Phipps, Kannon Johnston, Kole Johnston and Kyle Boothe.
