Richard "Ricky" Lee Hayes, age 69, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama passed away on Monday, October 3, 2022. Ricky spent his life working in the steel industry and owned Woodstock Tube LLC. He was a member of Reno Baptist Church in McCalla. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Most of all, he loved his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Sharon Kay Mason Hayes; and his parents, J. C. Hayes and Ruby Patton Hayes. He is survived by his son, Richard Jeremy Hayes (Lisa); his daughter, Kristie Dawn Hayes Kroeger (Tony); three granddaughters, Casey Dawn Kroeger (Clayton), Erin Renae Kroeger (J. D.) and Bailey Faith Hayes; three grandsons, Mason Troy Hayes, Houston Wayne Thompson (Paige) and Dallas David Thompson (Jessica); one great-granddaughter, Raegan Kay Thompson; six siblings, Shirley, Jimmy (Linda), Ramona, Tim, Phillip (Lori) and Rhonda (Kenny); many nieces and nephews; and beloved dog, Dolly.
A graveside service for Ricky will be held Thursday, October 6, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Spring Hill Cemetery, Spring Hill Church Road, Fayette, Alabama 35555. Bro. Tim Tindle will officiate.
The family would like to express their appreciation for the loving care provided by the staff of SouthernCare New Beacon Hospice - Northport, St. Vincent's East 5th and 6th Floor medical team, Hearts of Angels Home Care LLC, and his caregivers, Denise, Missy, and Roslyn.
