Nellie Frances Wood Chance

Nellie Frances Wood Chance, age 87, of Centreville, Alabama passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2022. She was born April 17, 1935 to Emmett Wood and Cynthia Ingram Wood of Thomas Mill, Alabama. She married Monroe Chance on July 3, 1954 in Calera, Alabama. As a pastor's wife, she supported her husband and family through many churches and moves to various states. Nell loved travelling, reading, knitting, and painting. She was an active member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Centreville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Richard Avery Wood; and brothers-in-law, John Doss and Frank Whaley. Nell is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Monroe Chance; her children, Daniel M. Chance (Chiame) of Centreville, Alabama, Donald L. Chance (Sharon) of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Joseph W. Chance (Susan) of Ormond Beach, Florida; seven grandsons; nine great-grandchildren; siblings, William "Bill" Wood (Nena), Ronnie Wood (Mary), Brenda Doss, and Wanda Whaley; sister-in-law, Rebecca "Ellen" Wood; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Rockco Funeral Home, 805 Birmingham Road, Centreville, Al 35042.
