Mary Lou Buckalew

Mary Lou Buckalew, age 81, lifelong resident of Brent, Alabama passed away on Monday, December 19, 2022. Mary was a humble and sweet soul. A godly woman, she was a member of River of Life. She worked at Dana Fashions as a seamstress. She also enjoyed quilting and going to the thrift store. She loved her family and grandbabies most of all.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Buckalew; parents, Marvin Howton and Dessie Wise Howton; brothers, Johnnie Howton and David Howton; and sister, Bell Howton Ammons; brothers-in-law, Tim Garner. She is survived by her children, Roger Neal Buckalew (Barbara), Susan Lanette Wester (Joe) and David Ray Buckalew (Linda); grandchildren, Ashley Bryant Holcomb (Dustin), Steven Morrison (Caitlin), Sean Tyler Buckalew, Dustin Bryant (Meagan), Kelli Buckalew Deaton (Courtney), Ashley Morris (Jeff), Kimberly Turner (Cody), Hunter Buckalew (Brooke), Fisher Buckalew, Jacob McCullough (Kim), and Bama Jones (Cory), Joseph Wester, Logan Wester, Melina Walley and Michael Walley; 21 great-grandchildren; brothers, Leroy Howton (Margie) and Louis Howton (Faye); twin sister, Sue Garner; sister-in-law, Norma Howton and Doris Howton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Mary will be held Friday, December 23, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at River of Life, 9225 Hwy 82, Centreville, Alabama, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM. She will be laid to rest at Brent City Cemetery. Bro. Mike Woods and Bro. Steve Young will officiate.

Pallbearers are Bobby Johnson, Bobby Shuttlesworth, Thomas Smith, Lee LaGrone, Calvin Sturdivant and Devon Hutchinson.
