He was born to Walter Lee and Rita White. Kenneth spent his childhood working on the family farm until he began his career in carpentry at the age of 16. He moved to Texas as a teenager, working with his older brothers in construction.
Kenneth joined the U.S. Army in 1959 and served for 6 years, both active and in Reserves. Kenneth was recalled for service on October 2, 1961, but he could not leave until he married the love of his life, Sara Ann Owens, on October 14, 1961. He left for service 8 days later.
When Kenneth returned from his tour, he moved Sara to Texas where they began a family, and he also answered the call to ministry. Kenneth pastored numerous churches in Southeast Texas, from Houston to Brownsville. Later, the family moved to Alabama where his ministry continued, as a pastor with a passion for mission work.
Kenneth was generous to all, and he loved the Lord with all his heart. His life was a walking testimony of faith. He will be missed by all who knew him, especially Sara, his wife of 62 years whom he loved from the day they met; his daughters (each his favorite) Kaye Pate and Krystal White Johnson (Glenn); granddaughters, Brittany Pate, Heather Johnson, and Megan Pate Hudson (Corey); great-grandchildren, Lydia and Layton Guthrie and Ayden Hudson; sister, Lynda Brewer (Kenneth) and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Lee and Rita White, brothers, Lee, Earl, J.B., Marzine, Billy, and David White; sisters, Doris Creel and Mildred Owens.
A visitation for Kenneth will be held Sunday, March 10, 2024 from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM at Rockco Funeral Home, 805 Birmingham Road, Centreville, AL 35042.
