Joshua Wayne Hobson was born on July 20, 1981 in Tuscaloosa, AL to Tracy L. Lovelady and Wayne A. Hobson. Josh grew up in Bibb County, AL and Cartersville, GA. He went to high school at West Blocton where he enjoyed playing baseball and football. Shortly after high school Josh enlisted in the United States Army to serve his country. He loved being a soldier and excelled during his time in the military. As a medic in the 82nd Airborne division, he served two tours of deployment in Iraq and Afghanistan. Staff Sergeant Hobson was honorably discharged in 2009.
Joshua had a beautiful spirit that impacted people where ever he went. He was humble, kind hearted and always willing to give the shirt off his back. He was fun and outgoing with a personality that filled the room. Whether it was playing ball, serving his country or pursuing a college degree after the military, he always strived for excellence. He gave his best in all he did. Despite his battles with PTSD, he achieved academic awards including Senior Honor at the University of Montevallo. Josh loved his family and friends. Though we will miss him, we find comfort in knowing he loved Jesus. We have no doubt where his soul is resting.
Joshua was preceded in death by his grandparents, Aunt and Uncle.
He is survived by his mother, Tracy Roberts(Bobby); father, Wayne Hobson(MaryJane); brother, Michael Hobson; sister, Lorie Sims(Daniel); the love of his life, April Hardin, as well as his nieces, nephews and the brothers and sisters he served beside.
