In loving memory and celebration of her life, Dorothy Ward Catha, age 85, Vance, AL went to her eternal home on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at 12:37 PM with her family and pastor with her at Self Nursing Home in Hueytown, AL. She was born on September the 27, 1934 to John Simmons and Mary Lee White Simmons. She is survived by her children, Pauline Ward Barker, Kathy Ward Smigay, Johnny Ward and Virginia Ward Jackson; grandchildren Laura Stanley, Larry Hayes, Jeremy Ward Mims, Christy Ward, Misty Ward, Pristy Gallup, Nathan Ward, Susie Colburn, Michael Colburn, Shannen Ward, Patricia Ward, Jonathan Ward, Alexandra Ward and Shane Wilder; 22 great grandchildren and 4 great great grands. She is preceded in death by her husbands, R C Ward and Lawrence Catha; parents, John Thomas Simmons and Mary Lee White Simmons; grandchild, Kimberly Colburn; brothers, Tommy Lee Simmons, Huey Simmons, John Thomas Simmons, Jr.; sister, Marie Parks, Maybelle Simmons, Berlene Simmons, Elbie Chism and Gladys Simmons.
