Carl William Griffin Sr., age 86, of Brent, Alabama passed away on Friday, December 29, 2023. Mr. Griff worked for 30 years for the city of Chicago then returned home to Alabama. He was a tremendous provider to his family, beloved husband, father and Granddaddy, and a respected deacon of New Antioch Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fermon and Sarah Ann Griffin; sons, Calvin Griffin, Carl Griffin, Jr., and Derrick Taylor; grandson, D'Angelo Griffin; three brothers and three sisters. He is survived by his wonderful wife, Mamie Griffin; sons, Dwayne Griffin, Sr., Corey Griffin, Sr. and Clifton Griffin; daughters, Linda K. Lockett and Sharon Griffin; sister, Joanna Rutledge; special niece, "Thang"; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and close friends, Deacon Karl and Christine Dorsey, Sue and Doris Kidd; and Rev. Terry and Mary Bell.
