Billy Fred Paris, age 74, of Centreville, Alabama passed away on Friday, September 22, 2023. Billy was born December 23, 1948 in Anniston, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his son, David Wayne Paris; his parents, J. P. and Mabel Bomar Paris; sister, Mickie Paris Taylor and brother-in-law, Johnny Taylor.
He is survived by one aunt, Jo Willingham; his sister, Jackie Paris Capps (J. R.); nieces, Amy Pacetti (Sean), Tracy Perillo (Gerard) and Leigh Ann Garrett (Mick); great-nieces and great-nephews, Ansley Pacetti, Asa Pacetti, Ava Pacetti, Chandler Robbins (Ana), Taylor Robbins, John Michael Garrett, Dylan Garrett, and Anthony Perillo, all of whom he loved dearly.
He worked as a structural iron worker out of Local Union #92 in Birmingham, AL. His job carried him all over the United States including Hawaii. While working on the Alaskan Pipeline, he had the opportunity to cross the arctic Circle, something very few civilians have ever done. He also worked on the structural steel in Disney World in Orlando, FL. These were his two most memorable jobs.
He loved to fish and hunt. His favorite pastime was anything related to Alabama football.
His life and personality weren't one dimension; he had many layers. Whether in conflict or love, he did everything with a full heart. He had a kind and caring nature and was genuine without pretense. He was a brave man who faced life's challenges head-on. He didn't back down easily. Billy was loyal to friends and family. Those who knew him as friend were friends for life. He was generous. If you needed the shirt off his back, he would give it to you. Billy gave his heart to Christ a couple of years ago. He will be greatly missed by those who loved him.
A graveside service for Billy will be held Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Old Munford Cemetery, 303 Jenifer Road, Munford, AL 36268. Bro. Ken Fuller will officiate and Chandler Robbins will provide the eulogy.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Tunnels 2 Towers, an organization he supported, at www.t2t.org.
