Albert Earmon Darden, 72 years of age, born and raised in Brent, Alabama, went to his heavenly home on April 16, 2023. He was a loving brother, son, and known by many as Uncle Albert whether related or not. Uncle Albert never met a stranger . . . he could talk for hours telling his stories and fishing was his number one hobby. He loved making jokes with any child that came in his path. After serving the Navy in Vietnam, as a CB, he traveled across every state in the U.S., a lot of it walking and biking, wanting to witness to anyone who would listen. His patriotism to this country was very strong. Albert loved the outdoors, guitar, harmonica, and Willie Nelson. He wrote a poem for every occasion and shared them with all.
Albert was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Bessie Darden and Sister, Jane Roll. He was survived by his siblings, Elaine (Paul) Smith, Maryann Blomgren (Gary), Dot (Dee) Tidwell, Henry, (Robin) Darden, Jr., Diane (Eddie) Nelson and Priscilla (Richard) Hughes and their children. Many extended family (Darden and Sanchez) and friends.
There will be a visitation on Sunday, April 23, from 4:00 - 6:00 P.M at Rockco Funeral Home. The graveside service will be at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo on Monday, April 24, at 11:45 A.M. The cemetery allows only real flowers. In lieu of flowers, Albert’s favorite charity was St. Jude Hospital
