This man was a great person. When I would call him he would always ask about me and what was going on with my life. He would always ask about my boys and wanted to know what was going on with them. I remember when Shirley and him rode their motorcycles out here from Washington. It was so good to see them. My only regret was that I didn't get to see him as much as I wanted to. I miss the calls we had,  they might have been few but they were meaningful to me.

Uncle Bill moved across the country when I was a small child. We knew him more through my Mom and Grandmother sharing “Billy stories “ 
Through the magic of social media, I connected with Shirley a few years ago. That lead to a visit with them a number of years ago while we were traveling their area in our RV.
We couldn’t have been treated more like family, and felt an instant connection.
The Porters were fantastic story tellers. Billy did not disappoint!
