Nora Gardipee was born on October 26, 1929, to Andrew and Maude Cooper in Toledo, Washington, and passed away on October 6, 2024. She was the 7th of 13 children. She attended Toledo school, starting at Knab School in Layton Prairie.
After high school, Nora married Everett “Pete” Davis, and had 3 children, Dennis Davis (Toledo), Gerald “Jerry” (Toledo), and Gail Gardipee (Chehalis).
Nora later moved to Adna and married Harvey Gardipee. They were married for 26 years, until his death in 2002.
Nora lived life to the fullest. She had many hobbies, some of which were playing guitar, singing, sewing and crocheting. She belonged to the Country Sounds, along with her lifetime best friend, Bummy Yantis. They played in nearly every nursing home and Senior Center in and around Lewis County.
Nora worked for several years at Bummy’s Burgers in Chehalis, and then worked for 15 years at JCPennys until her retirement.
Nora leaves behind her sons Dennis and Jerry; daughter Gail; 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Andrew and Maude; her four brothers Everett, Leo, Ernie and David; her eight sisters Francess, Mable, Florence, Eva, Gladys, Mary Ellen (Skip), Helen and Shirley; a daughter-in-law Barbara Davis; her son-in-law Gary Gardipee; her step children Brenda, Glenda, and Harvey Jr; and grandsons Andrew and Matthew Davis.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either the Mighty Fine Seniors of Toledo (P O Box 554 Toledo WA 98591) or Brenda’s Elder Care where Nora was residing at the time of her death (CO Brenda Corwin, 512 SE 2nd St Winlock WA 98596).
Nora will be laid to rest with her husband, Harvey, at the Claquato Cemetery at a private family burial. On Monday, October 28th, there will be a Memorial for family and friends at 1pm at Sticklin Funeral Chapel (1437 S Gold St, Centralia WA 98531). There will be a social gathering for all family and friends at 3pm at the Toledo Senior Center (150 Coal St, Toledo WA 98591).
