Marty Coumbs, 72, of Centralia, WA, passed away quietly at home on October 12, 2015. Marty was surrounded in love by her family and friends in the days before her death. Marty was born September 7, 1943 in Newport, WA and graduated from Newport High School in 1961. She married her high school sweetheart Lee, June 8, 1963, enjoying 52 years of marriage.
She is survived by her husband Lee Coumbs, daughter Rebecca and husband Rick Gilham of Chehalis, daughter LeAnn and husband Ron Rupke of Tumwater and four granddaughters: Lauren Gilham, Katie, Andrea, and Julia Rupke. She is also survived by her brother Ed Allan of Ephrata, WA.
Marty knew God's plan for her was to be the Head Cheerleader of her family. She loved supporting her family in all their many pursuits and adventures. If one of her family members was involved in it, so was she. When someone asked why she was so involved in her community she would answer, "I can join Lee or stay home. What would you do?" She loved being with and supporting her family. She joined Lee in all his community activities ranging from Christmas Lights at Borst Park to 4th of July Breakfasts where she was given the title "Pancake Lady of Borst Park" by a little girl who loved her pancakes. She was a partner in Coumbs Concessions for over 20 years, serving in Marty's Place at the SWW Fair. God's plan has been fulfilled for Marty. She is at home with her Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus. The family would like to thank Assured Home Health and Hospice for making it possible to enjoy Marty's final days at home.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, October 17 at Centralia Christian School. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Westminster Presbyterian Sanctuary Project or Centralia Christian School.
