Lillie Mae Valentine

Lillie Mae (Gibbs) Valentine, 88, of Centralia, Washington passed away Thursday, August 4, 2022 at home. Lillie was born May 1, 1934 to William A. Gibbs and Mellie E. (Robinson) Gibbs in Silva, North Carolina. Lillie grew up with five siblings, Gertrude, James, David, Willie and Annie.

On August 28, 1953, Lillie married Bert Valentine in Sedro Wolley, Washington. Together, they raised four children, son, Michael and daughters, Melitha, Hilda and Juanita. Lillie was a homemaker. She loved books, embroidery, crocheting and sewing, but she was especially fond of Fill-In puzzle books. What brought her the most joy was to be surrounded by family, especially her grandchildren.

Lillie was preceded in death by her husband, Bert in 1968; and daughter, Melitha in 2009.

Survivors include sister, Annie Hooks; son, Michael Valentine; daughters, Hilda Richter and Juanita Taylor; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Providence Sound HomeCare Hospice, especially Nurse Vikki and bathaid, Doris, for their compassionate care.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 1PM at Sticklin Funeral Chapel in the George Washington Venue, 1437 S Gold St, Centralia, Washington 98531. A reception will follow at the Limit Bar & Grill, Centralia. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Sticklin Funeral Chapel.
