John J. Maurer 64 ,went to be with the Lord on February 10, 2012. He was born August 27, 1947 in St. Maries, Idaho. When John was 11 years old, he went to a family reunion in Reardon, Wa., and he ended up staying behind helping his uncle on the farm for a few years. From 1966 to 1968 John joined the Army, and was stationed in Germany, where he met the love of his life Christine. They were married in April of 1969. After returning from the Army he worked at a plywood mill and in 1973 the family moved to Centralia Washington, where John worked at the Centralia Coalmine until 1999. With the help of their son, James, In 1996 John and Christine established Café da Capo. John loved hunting and fishing and panning for gold. He and his wife Christine enjoyed traveling. Their favorite places were Utah, Arizona and Nevada. John is survived by his wife Christine at their home, their children Terry of Lacey, James (Sara) of San Diego, and Mike of Centralia, his grandchildren Jennifer and Terry in Pa, Ravin and Cooper of San Diego and Zack and Hunter of Centralia, and also his dog, Brandy. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother. There is a memorial scheduled for Friday, February 24 at 11AM at the Sticklin Funeral Chapel.
