Johnny was born to John Leddy and Heather Wilson on March 25, 1983 in Des Plaines, Illinois. He attended Sumner high school and was a caring brother to five siblings: Elizabeth, Mary, Noah, Nativity, and Norris. He brought his daughter, Luca, into the world with Kiri Denney, and also became family to Kiri’s son, Jordan.
Johnny was a journeyman in the Laborers’ International Union of North America, chapter 252. He was a skilled mechanic, and he spent many hours working on auto restoration and participating in car shows. With pride for his heritage, Johnny participated in a myriad of Native American cultural activities. He was a gifted musician who could play guitar, drums, and sing. He was also was a falconer. Johnny loved to cook, especially for others. John’s community of family and friends were the most important thing in his life.
John was a devout Christian who marched to the beat of his own drum. As he said himself “I didn’t change my life to follow the crowd… or the narrative… I am a child of God… and I live in his Light!!! That’s all…” Johnny also had a great sense of humor. He was exceptionally animated and hilarious, and he loved to make people laugh.
John was preceded in death by his grandmothers Jeanne Emmerson (Sam) and Rose Leddy, and his Grandfathers Carl Peery (Louise) and George Leddy.
