at his side. He was born Nov. 9, 1941 in Cottage Grove, Ore., to Glen D. Oneal and Georgia M. (Holder) Oneal. The family settled in Centralia, Wash., where he attended school. He continued his education- receiving a bachelor’s degree and after, a master’s degree in social work.
Jim worked for the Department of Social and Health Services for 30 years before retiring in 1997. He loved fishing and after retirement, worked to conserve and protect the salmon. He also loved photography, visiting with his daughters and grandchildren, and walks with the dogs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Georgia Oneal; friend, Joel Mills; and brother-in-law, James Moore.
Jim is survived by his loving partner of 25 years, Melva Binion; sister, Glenadene Moore of Centralia; brother-in-law, best friend and fishing buddy, Jim Webb; beloved daughters, Kim Jellison of Centralia, Kristine Perkins (Francisco Bejar) of Santa Inez, Calif. and Bobbi (Ray) Showers of Onalaska; beloved granddaughters, Rochelle (Lars) Teigen of Lake Stevens and Jesika Jellison of Centralia;
wonderful grandsons, Christopher Jellison of Centralia,
Justin Bays of Randle and Ryan Jellison of Onalaska.
Jim especially loved his great-granddaughter, Madison Jellison of Centralia; great-grandsons, Gunnar and Kaden Teigen of Lake Stevens; two nieces, Colleen (Steve) Haufman of Napavine and Wendy (Ryan) Hendrickson of Olympia; a great-niece,
Brianna Haufman; and a great-nephew, Ryan Hendrickson.
Jim was a wonderful, caring man, who was always willing to help in any way that he could. He will be missed by many; especially his canine best friend, Otto. Rest in Peace, Jimmy.
