Colleen Marie Riste, 74, of Wenatchee, Washington, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2024. Born on March 25, 1950, in Portland, Oregon, to Jack Willard Sullivan and Joy Laverne Lewis, Colleen grew up in Rock Island, Washington. She attended Eastmont High School before leaving to work in the family restaurant, "The Fishnet," in Wenatchee.
Colleen married Kenneth K. Riste II on August 13, 1978, at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, beginning a life filled with love and family. Together, they raised two sons, Robby A. Wilson and Kenneth K. Riste III, and created countless cherished memories.
Colleen spent much of her career at the Community Action Center, where she served as Supervisor in Administration. She was deeply involved in her community, volunteering her time at the local food bank and meeting friends at the Wenatchee bowling alley for coffee. Colleen also enjoyed playing Bingo and Yahtzee, taking long walks with her beloved granddaughters, and was an active member of the Wenatchee Eagles Club. She was passionate about collecting Santa Claus figurines, a reflection of her joyful spirit.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth K. Riste II; her father, Jack W. Sullivan; and her mother, Joy Laverne Lewis. Colleen is survived by her two sons, Robby A. Wilson and Kenneth K. Riste III; her daughter-in-law, Michelle Wilson; her two granddaughters, Heather M. Wilson and Heidi A. Wilson; her brother, Jack Sullivan, and sister, Pennee Davis; her sister-in-law, Mary Sullivan; and her stepmother, Bonnie Sullivan, as well as many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the dedicated teams at Providence Hospice and RooLan Health and Rehab in Olympia, Washington, for their compassionate care. A graveside service will be held at Wenatchee Cemetery on December 20, 2024, at 11 AM, with a reception to follow.
