Pete Clement Galik, born on November 10, 1936 to Amanda Holland Jones and Clement Pete Galik in Mingus, TX. He passed away peacefully in his home in Baton Rouge, LA on February 1, 2025 at the age of 88. Pete is preceded in death by his mother Amanda Jones, father Clement Galik, wife Patricia “Pasty” Soileau Galik, brothers Robert and Marion “Ernie” Camfield, sons Kenneth “Mike” and Paul Galik, and grandson Jeremy Gnagie. Pete is survived by his brothers Daniel “Danny” Williams (Sue), Michael “Mike”, and Ronnie Galik, sister-in-law Peggy Camfield, children Norma Sue “Susie” Goodwin and Bradley Galik (Jodie), grandchildren Amanda Drury (David), Laura Drury (Stephen), Victoria Goodwin, Eva Drury, Summer Galik (Dalton), Clement “PJ” Galik, and Baleigh Johnson, great-grandchildren Damyan Drury, Alice Goodwin, Stacy Blankenship, Haley and Chase Stoute, Woody, David, Mary, and Hardy Holliday, great-great-grandchildren Kayden Parsons, Parker Drury, and Kacon and Kolton Beard, and dear friend Anh Bui. Pete joined the United States Army after he graduated from Strawn High School. He retired from Copolymer, as a boilermaker. Pete was a devoted Catholic man who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, cooking, gardening, and building or making things in his spare time. Visitation will be held at Central Funeral Home, 9995 Hooper Rd, Baton Rouge, LA 70818, on Friday February 7, 2025 from 5pm until 9pm. A Catholic Mass will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 3475 N. Sherwood Forest Dr., Baton Rouge, LA 70814, on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 12pm. The burial will follow services at GreenOaks Cemetery. Pete’s pallbearers will be Bradley Galik, Daniel Williams, Blake Mounce, Dalton Walker, Byron Wade, Tri Nguyen, and honorary pallbearers Kayden Parsons and Chase Stoute.
