Memorial services for Michael "Mike" Harry Mulligan will be held from 1PM to 5PM on Saturday, July 20 at Central Funeral Home in Central, LA. Mike, 68, died on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 surrounded by the love of his family and friends.
Mike was a resident of the Baton Rouge area for 54 years and attended Broadmoor Senior High School and LSU. He was self-employed with Axion Logistics. Mike was well-loved by everyone who knew him as a funny, kind-hearted, faithful and generous man. He enjoyed RVing with his wife, cooking dinners at home with his son, being a problem solver for his daughter and connecting with his cousins on social media. Mike was the most thoughtful man from writing a poem or song to cheer someone up to having a closet full of thoughtful gifts. He was always there helping to fix things, visiting his elderly mother at St. James every day after work, or advising others who were navigating difficult situations in their lives. He brought joy to everyone he encountered and his loss is felt by many. It's only fitting that Mike's last act was to help others through organ and tissue donation.
Mike is survived by his wife of 24 years, Mary Mulligan; his children, Tina and Jake Rodosta, step-daughter Haley Chauvin; his mother, Beverly Mulligan; his brother Dan Mulligan; his sister and her husband, Margaret and Dave Nardecchia and children, Grace and Ryne Nardecchia; his sister, Terry Gitnick and children Shana Gitnick, Joan and Jon Alison, and Amy Gitnick and Will Boncher. He is preceded in death by his father, Edward Mulligan, and his brother in-law Ben Gitnick and his beloved dog Lulu.
"And you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you, for you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous." Luke 14:14.
