Henry John Ferguson III, age 85, passed away Monday December 16, 2024. He was born in Birmingham, AL and was a resident of Baton Rouge, LA. John graduated Auburn University with an electrical engineering degree and was a Captain of the United States Army. He was a retired deacon within the catholic church and a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Baton Rouge. John was a dedicated boy scout leader for many years who enjoyed woodworking, painting, and fishing in his free time. He will be missed by all who knew him.
John is survived by daughter, Kathleen Poché (Gabe) of Baton Rouge, LA; sons, Michael Ferguson (Inger) of Norway, and Matthew Ferguson (Danna) of Tampa, Fl; daughter-in-law Janet Ferguson of Michigan; grandchildren, Jennifer Bradley, Elizabeth Pothen, Timothy Hannan, Sarah Hannan, Andrew Ferguson, Jenna Ferguson, and Daly Ferguson; as well as, 8 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by wife, Mary Camille Johnson Ferguson; son, Mark Ferguson; grandson, Davis Ferguson; as well as parents, Henry John Ferguson Jr. and Sue Milsap Ferguson.
Relatives and friends are invited to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church on Monday December 23, 2024, for a visitation beginning at 9:00AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM. A burial at Louisiana National Cemetery is to follow at 1:00PM. Pallbearers are Matt Ferguson, Tim Hannan, Andrew Ferguson, Bryce Olivier, Chad Bradley, Justin Pothen.
