Alexander Scott Bliss, a native and resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, died February 8, 2022 at the age of 29 after a long, torturous battle with addiction. Alex is survived by his parents Todd and Dara Bliss; his sister and brother-in-law Angela and Matthew Stinson; his grandparents, Ralph Dickerson, Bob and Gerrie West, and Bill and Rickie Bliss; many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Alex was preceded in death by his uncle, Barry Bliss and his grandmother Paula Dickerson.
Before the disease of addiction stole his life, Alex was a kind, loving soul with a great sense of humor. He enjoyed hunting, firearms, music and spending time with friends. Alex was well-mannered and respectful of others. He treated his mom’s and sister’s cats and dogs with affection and tenderness. We choose to remember Alex as the person he was before addiction drove him to behaviors that caused him much guilt and shame. We ask that you honor his memory by speaking words of love, encouragement and grace to the loved ones in your life who may be facing their own challenges.
