It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Steven A. DelVecchio, age 61, of Centereach, New York, who peacefully departed this life on Tuesday, April 9, 2024. Steven leaves behind a legacy of love, music, and cherished memories that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew him.
Steven was a gifted musician, known for his talents as a guitarist. Under his band name "DelVek," he released four CD's, each a testament to his passion and dedication to his craft. His musical journey reached notable heights when he and his band performed at Carnegie Hall during their college years, a momentous occasion that showcased his remarkable talent and dedication to his art.
Among his many passions, guitars held a special place in Steven's heart, particularly models by Taylor and Paul Reed Smith. His love for music was only surpassed by his love for his wife, Patrina, with whom he shared countless adventures and cherished moments. From their unforgettable honeymoon at Niagara Falls to vacations in Costa Rica and Alaska, Steven and Patrina embraced life's joys together, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
In addition to his wife, Patrina, Steven is survived by his step-son, Steven, whom he loved dearly, and his siblings, Gina Henne and John DelVecchio (Linda). He was a cherished brother-in-law to Maryann DeAguiar (Joseph), Thomas Zuccaro (Debbie), and Janine DeSantis. Steven's presence brought warmth and laughter to family gatherings, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him.
Friends and loved ones are invited to pay their respects during visitation hours at O. B. Davis Funeral Homes, located at 2326 Middle Country Rd, Centereach, New York 11720, on Sunday, April 14, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 15, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary R.C. Church, located at 33 Crown Acres Rd, Centereach, New York 11720, followed by entombment at a later time.
Steven Delvecchio touched the lives of many with his music, his kindness, and his unwavering love for his family. Though he may be gone, his spirit will live on through the melodies he played, the memories he created, and the love he shared with all who knew him. May he rest in peace, knowing that he will always be remembered with love and admiration.
