With profound sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Mildred (Millie) Wickline, 96, of Stony Brook, NY on January 12, 2023. Mildred was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend to all whose lives she touched.
Born “Carmella” on May 4, 1926 in Brooklyn, NY to Thomas and Rose Perillo, Mildred was the second youngest of nine sisters and two brothers.
Mildred was among the first women to be employed by the New York Stock Exchange starting in 1943 before getting married, starting a family, and moving to Long Island.
Mildred was the beloved mother of Merry (Mike), Joan (Bob) and Jane (Ken). She was the proud grandmother of Donovan, Michael, Bryan, Timothy, Melanie, Sean, Jennifer, Jaclyn and Justin and great grandmother to Eden, Sophia, Tressa, Griffin, Kai, Serafina, Kira, and Georgette. She was predeceased by her son, Arthur, and her husband, Arthur.
She lived a full life spending part of her retirement in San Diego, CA while also traveling the world. She loved to visit with family and friends, paint, cook, bake, cheer on The Mets, listen to music, play cards, and everyone (and every new baby) she knew had a hand crocheted afghan made with love.
She will be dearly missed and will remain forever in our hearts.
