I’ve only recently come across this page. I wish I knew about it, I would have wrote something earlier.
The best grandfather a granddaughter could ask for.
I miss your eggs and bacon, especially your poached eggs. To this day, no one makes them quite like you do. I miss waving goodbye at your house, and seeing you sitting on the porch at the lake house. I even miss you tugging on my pony tails when I was a kid, even if it made me so mad back then. 
Thank you for always supporting me in this life and the next. I try my hardest at school everyday for you and Bop.

Only became aware of loss recently.  Joe was the best. I worked with Joe in the 109 when I was first promoted., then again in Hwy3.  Believe it or not I also worked with his father Mario in CB in the 60s and 70s, small world.

To the Fortuna family. We have many fond memories of our time as neighbors and friends in Farmingvile. We are so sorry for your loss. Three weeks today and I still cannot believe you are gone.  I miss you.

I worked with Joe on late tours in Highway. One of the funniest guys I ever met. I'm sure they'll be laughing their "you know what's off " up there! RIP Tuna

There were many men who passed through Highway over the years. Very few were considered legends. Joe was one of them. RIP Tuna you truly will be missed.

Had the pleasure of working with joe at Highway 3 for many years as he was a true mentor to us who worked the night tours. Joe often gave us younger cops great advice and was well respected among us who worked with him. Joe had a great wit, sense of humor, and was a "cops" cop! Rest In Peace my friend! Our condolences to his family!
