We were so saddened to get the news...but you left all of us with wonderful memories. Mary Ellen was my first friend at 9 years old when we moved to Centereach. We were either at my house or your house.Kenny wasn't born yet, so it was Mark and I. Mark was friends with Thomas and Donald. I loved being at your house because there so always something going on. Because of your family, as I got older, I wanted a big family. You were a hard worker. No desk job, manual labor.  On a few occasions when you were just getting out of your truck, we were all outside playing. Then, as if he knew the ice cream man would start coming down the block. Your kids asked "Daddy, can we get ice cream, please"? Of course you got them ice cream, and always included Mark and I. I can remember two times when you had to carry me home. I'm sure there were more. When I was helping Mary Ellen feed the pets. She fed Zeenie, and I fed Goldie. Apparently, I didn't cut the lid of the can off completely. So I tried to use my fingers to pull it off, slicing my thumb pretty bad. First time you had to carry me home. Mary Ellen and I were on the swings, I fell off, landed on my back, knocking the wind out of myself. I was so scared, you knelt down next to me,and told me what I did to calm me down. When I saw you trying not to smile, I knew I was OK, then you carried me home.  I was at your house one day, so was Mark.  My dad stopped by for a visit. The adults were sitting on the couch.  One of the boys, I don't remember who, his a tape recorder behind the couch close to where my dad was sitting. They wanted to record my dad talking because his accent was so thick. Some how you figured out what was going on. All of us kids were trying not to laugh. I don't think my dad knew exactly what was going on. You wanted to know who put the tape recorder there. None of us kids knew it was impolite to do that. We couldn't laugh because you were mad, at first.  Finally, you couldn't keep a straight face, and you were trying not to laugh. You to!d my dad what wax going on, and he didn't mind,he started to laugh. Finally we could let out the laughter we were holding in...Including you.  You definitely made your point, that recording someone's, without their knowledge, was not acceptable. But all of us had a good long laugh.  My dad wanted to hear the recording. I think my dad, Mark,and I were the only ones that understood everything he said!  You touched so many lives and have no idea, because you were just being you. You will be missed by so many, and always remembered be many, many more. Please tell my dad, and my daughter Tara, that I love them. I love you too, you were a big part of my childhood. You will be missed dearly...XOXOXO

John was an "extra dad" for me growing up. Our families shared barbeque dinners almost every Sunday. He was the one who taught me everything I know about working on cars. My dad would help out with building things and John would help us out with cars. When we needed to add a bathroom upstairs, John did the tile work and bath tub, so I was reminded of him daily growing up. He was a great friend to my parents and my family. He has meant a great deal to my brother Michael since our dad passed in 2005, being an "extra dad" to him as well. He will be missed by us all. I am sorry for your loss. Billy Anziani
