Chalam was born November 19, 1947 in Makhamprong Village, Thailand. She came to the United States in her early 20’s full of ambition and passion about beginning her career as a Cosmetologist. Overcoming the challenge of being a single parent, thousands of miles away from her family and barely speaking English as her second language, her ambition and tenacity led her to her opening her own Salon, Chalam Hair Design. Surely, many have fond memories of haircuts and perms by Chalam. She loved being a hairdresser and was incredibly talented, hardworking and quite successful! Her favorite pastime was going to the Casino, where most could hear her happy voice yelling… “I WIN, I WIN!” Memories for all of us include her delicious Thai egg rolls and of course, rice with everything!
Her smile lit up a room when she entered. She loved with all she had. She was a selfless and nurturing mom, wife, friend, and sister… but her favorite thing in the world was being a grandma. She loved all 5 of her grandkids, “My babies” as she called them, more than life itself.
EVERYONE loved Grandma.
She is survived by her two brothers, Termsak Kongpetch and Nam Kongpetch and her sister Ruay. She will be sincerely missed by her loving son Lani and his wife, Kristy and her loving daughter Tami Bohne. She leaves behind her five adoring grandchildren, PJ, Justice, Alexandra, Justina and LJ. She will be remembered by her many dear nieces, nephews and so many wonderful friends.
May you rest in eternal peace, You are forever in our hearts. We Love You.
